# Divock Origi named as potential Inter Milan target

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/28/imagine-if-that-was-salah-liverpool-fans-fume-after-kanes-latest-dive/)forward [Divock Origi](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/24/fabrizio-romano-confirm-liverpool-contact-with-ozan-kabak-agent/) has been earmarked as a possible January signing for Inter Milan by [Corriere dello Sport](https://www.corrieredellosport.it/?refresh_ce) (via [Cult of Calcio](https://cultofcalcio.com/inter-among-list-of-possible-destinations-for-liverpool-striker/)), with the Serie A giants on the lookout for a striker to supplement [former Everton and Manchester United](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/romelu-lukaku/bilanz/spieler/96341/plus/0?wettbewerb=GB1) hitman Romelu Lukaku.

Origi has been linked with a [host of clubs in recent weeks](https://www.90min.com/posts/liverpool-divock-origi-transfer-latest) as the 25-year-old’s future looks increasingly in doubt on Merseyside following [his loss of form](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/alletore/spieler/148368) and the [impact of new arrival Diogo Jota](https://www.goal.com/en/news/jota-impact-liverpool-similar-salah-klopp-headache-aldridge/1ixdq112s4wu9z9kenig0uy58).

The Nerazzurri are said to be looking at multiple options around Europe but could be inclined to plump for the [29-cap Belgian](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/nationalmannschaft/spieler/148368/verein_id/3382) owing to his [established international relationship](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/amistosos-internacionales/story/2144267/all)with Lukaku.

Once hailed as the [go-to man for any tricky situation](https://talksport.com/football/623953/liverpool-divock-origi-merseyside-derbies-forgotten-man-cult-hero/) for Jurgen Klopp’s side, the [2018/19 Champions League cult hero](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7759679/Divock-Origi-ultimate-cult-hero-Liverpool-scoring-crucial-goals.html) has had an increasingly diminishing impact in his fleeting appearances ever since the final of that competition in Madrid. His [three Premier League appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/148368/saison/2020/wettbewerb/GB1/verein/31) this term have amounted to just seven minutes of action.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Origi’s days as a Red certainly seem to be numbered. Liverpool would likely be in favour of a permanent departure as a loan move leaves the club without a fee to reinvest and would merely kick the matter further down the road.

Origi is valued at £14.4m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/divock-origi/leistungsdaten/spieler/148368) but the Reds would almost certainly demand more than that fee for the 25-year-old.

Klopp’s potential pursuit could of a central defender may well play a part in Origi’s next destination. With Schalke[reportedly keen on a swap deal](https://talksport.com/football/807531/liverpool-schalke-transfer-swap-ozan-kabak-divock-origi/#:~:text=Liverpool%20have%20made%20contact%20with,they%20have%20plenty%20of%20competition.) including Ozan Kabak and Wolves [also in the mix](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9092401/Inter-Milan-ready-make-January-Divock-Origi-Nerazzurri-join-Wolves-running.html), the Reds could use the striker as a makeweight for either the Turkish defender or [Conor Coady](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1353607/Liverpool-news-Conor-Coady-transfer-Jurgen-Klopp-Wolves).

Perhaps £10m plus [recent defensive target Milan Skriniar](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8942985/Liverpool-target-Milan-Skriniar-urged-Martin-Skrtel-stay-Inter-Milan.html)would get the deal over the line with Inter.
