# England’s 2026 FIFA World Cup star ‘extremely receptive’ to Liverpool move

**Liverpool remain in the market for reinforcements as Andoni Iraola faces a tough task to improve the team between now and the end of the summer.**

The Reds are ravaged by injuries at the back, so a versatile defensive option would do them a world of good.

Djed Spence was an unexpected name in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and showed his class with a string of outstanding displays at the back.

And now, if reports from England are to be believed, he is receptive to a move to Anfield.

## Djed Spence open to Liverpool transfer

Spence is primarily a right back but can also play out on the left to good effect, making him a dream utility option.

Additionally, he has signaled his desire to leave Tottenham this summer, which is where Liverpool and other teams come into play.

[TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/tottenham-djed-spence-desperate-sign-liverpool-transfer-fee-revealed), aggregating claims from two other sources close to the situation, claim that he is open to a move to Liverpool this summer.

With Conor Bradley injured and Jeremie Frimpong seen more as a utility option in attack, Spence could start a lot of games as a right back.

He can also provide cover and competition for Milos Kerkez, which would allow the Reds to move Kostas Tsimikas on.

All in all, this is a transfer that makes sense for all parties involved, especially since Spence wants a transfer and his potential arrival wouldn’t eat into Liverpool’s non-homegrown spots.

And finally, he is valued at around £35m, which is a fair price for a player of his quality.
