# Dozens of Liverpool fans lament Naby Keita omission

On a night whereby there was plenty to get irate about, [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/03/05/liverpool-fans-fume-with-jurgen-klopp-over-key-decision-in-chelsea-defeat/) fans have been questioning Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave [Naby Keita](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/03/03/liverpool-fans-absolutely-love-photo-of-naby-keita-in-training/)on the bench as the Reds chased the game.

The reigning Premier League champions were enjoying[more possession](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-chelsea/stats/429121) and in more advanced areas without [being able to break Chelsea down](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-chelsea/429121), leading to the belief changes were afoot.

When those changes came it was[Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-chelsea/teams/429121) who were initially introduced, inexplicably with [Mohamed Salah replaced](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1405797/Liverpool-news-Jurgen-Klopp-Mohamed-Salah-subbed-Chelsea).

Then, with just 10 minutes remaining things[took another bizarre turn](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-chelsea/video/429121)as the [industrious James Milner](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/4511/Show/James-Milner) entered the fray with the[creative Keita](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/Show/Naby-Keita) left watching on – a decision Klopp himself went [against a footballing point of view](https://twitter.com/TheAnfieldTalk/status/1367611005950447621).

Whilst few could argue with Klopp’s decision making during the[entirety of his tenure](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jurgen-klopp/erfolge/trainer/118), Kopites have been reacting to the German’s brazen oversight.

Here’s a pick of the reactions from [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JamesPearceLFC/status/1367593381480783874)…

> Twitter: @JamesPearceLFC This game was crying out for Keita. I’m sorry but I’m not sure what Ox is offering at the moment. (@Blakey80JB)

> Twitter: @JamesPearceLFC So strange, what does Milner even offer in a game like this (@Nabiesta1)

> Twitter: @JamesPearceLFC That says it all.\
> Ox a wasted one substitution and now Milner is the second wasted substitution. (@O5amaD)

> Twitter: @JamesPearceLFC Klopp has lost it – his subs tonight were absolute desperate, poor management (@dswaine84)

> Twitter: @JamesPearceLFC Makes no sense. We’re losing so give Keita the chance. If we lose 2 nil so be it. Milner is just th… https://t.co/eywwVEyjkm (@AndyEvans77)
