# Enrique wants stay after Palace exit

**UPDATE**

The Liverpool Echo (James Pearce) are reporting that Jose Enrique wants to stay and fight for his place at Liverpool.

Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew was said to be keen on the Spanish left back (see below) but it seems Enrique isn’t keen to leave a team he’s been with since 2011.

With Liverpool having a wealth of options in full back areas – and that’s set to get ever richer with the impending return of Jon Flanagan – the former Newcastle man may find his playing time extremely limited at the Merseyside club.

Crystal Palace manager, Alan Pardew, wants to take Liverpool left-back, Jose Enrique on loan until the end of the season. Pardew has made an inquiry about the availability of the Spanish left-back, according to The Telegraph.

Palace have ensured that the left-back position is a priority this window. Enrique hasn’t started since October for Liverpool in the Premier League and Pardew states he can offer him first-team opportunities. This may appeal to the 28 year-old, who clearly is out of favour at Liverpool.

Liverpool may consider not letting Enrique go, though. The Reds have got a very busy schedule over the next month or so which could potentially stretch on, depending the progress in cup competitions.

Enrique signed from Newcastle way back in 2011 and has represented Liverpool 75 times in that period. With the imminent return of Jon Flanagan, it may just be a good time for Enrique to move to Selhurst Park.
