# ‘Exact same’ – Liverpool youngster likens Andoni Iraola to Jurgen Klopp

**Andoni Iraola has already made quite the impression at Liverpool after taking over the reigns from Arne Slot.**

The Reds haven’t set the world alight with their results, but it appears as if they are headed in the right direction.

Liverpool look a lot more energetic and are pressing from the front, which is a far cry from what was the case under Slot.

And Will Wright, who has dominated proceedings at the academy level, feels the Spaniard’s philosophy is similar to that of Jurgen Klopp.

## Will Wright on Iraola-Klopp similarities at Liverpool

The 18-year-old striker is knocking on the first team door and has scored eight goals in nine appearances for the academy this season.

Wright feels Iraola and Klopp share the same footballing philosophy, which is evident from their brand of football this season.

“Jurgen (Klopp) had that philosophy of pressing at the right moments,” said the youngster via [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/wright-liverpool-future-learning-alexander-34767724).

“The gaffer is the exact same as that, he loves an energetic side. For me personally, I remember in pre-season it was a new system and I took a bit of time to adjust to it.

“But watching the games and speaking to a few of the lads as well, you get to grips with it. It gives you more tools to do well in the first team.”

Wright will make his debut for Liverpool in the near future. And if he carries on in the same vein, it could come sooner rather than later.
