# Liverpool fans impatient as Ben White emerges as summer target

Plenty of [Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/14/liverpool-fans-despair-naby-keita-joel-matip-miss-training/) fans have been reacting as Brighton defender[Ben White](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/15/liverpool-fans-mixed-reaction-ben-white-transfer-links/) was revealed as a player of ‘genuine interest’ for a big summer signing by Paul Gorst in the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-transfer-news-ben-white-19609344).

Interest from the Reds in the 23-year-old is nothing new after they were [touted with a desire to sign](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/brighton-boss-delivers-sarcastic-reply-ben-white-50m-liverpool-link) the versatile defender after his [successful loan spell](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ben-white/846036) in the Championship with Leeds United last season.

White has continued to flourish in the top flight and it seems [his performances](https://www.sofascore.com/player/ben-white/846036)this season have further piqued the Anfield club’s interests.

The report claimed that those in charge of transfers at the Premier League champions remain focused on summer signings, despite the [clamour for instant remedies](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/liverpool-wont-win-title-without-another-centre-half/1dew1lsc96x4z1rsycfsdpkb6r#:~:text=Liverpool-,'Liverpool%20won't%20win%20title%20without%20another%20centre%2Dhalf,airs%20'big%20worry'%20for%20Reds&text=Liverpool%20will%20surrender%20their%20Premier,nowhere%20near%20enough%E2%80%9D%20of%20late.), and White is among the prime candidates for a Merseyside move.

These Kopites have reacted on Twitter and, whilst most can see the potential in the young defender, they’d rather see a deal come to fruition in the coming weeks instead of months…
