# Fans in Raptures as Neco Williams Turns Doubters Into Believers

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/07/liverpool-player-ratings-wolves-h-4/) full-back [Neco Williams](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/03/neco-williams-deserves-credit-not-criticism/) has endured a mixed spell whilst filling in for an absent Trent Alexander-Arnold over the last few weeks.

After being [chastised online for his performances](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-ajax-neco-williams-champions-19383550) against Atalanta and [Brighton](https://www.sofascore.com/player/williams-neco/927356), the young Welsh full-back has put in back-to-back [stellar displays](https://www.sofascore.com/player/williams-neco/927356) in the space of four days and, as such, received the backing of numerous Reds supporters.

The 19-year-old Wales international was [booked early on](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/12153341/liverpool-4-0-wolves-jurgen-klopps-side-move-level-on-points-with-tottenham-at-the-top-of-table) in Sunday’s win over Wolves and some may have feared the worst as Williams would have to spend more than 80 minutes dealing with one of the [most dangerous opponents](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/adama-traore-is-the-most-dangerous-player-outside-top-two-3lff56mlg) the Premier League has to offer in Adama Traore.

However, the right-back was [almost imperious from that moment on](https://www.sofascore.com/player/williams-neco/927356) and even found time to influence in an attacking sense before being replaced by a [returning Alexander-Arnold](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1367923/Trent-Alexander-Arnold-injury-return-Liverpool-news-Wolves-Jurgen-Klopp) late on. Indeed, his [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1485264/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2020-2021-Liverpool-Wolverhampton-Wanderers) rating of 7.08 far outranked that of Traore’s 6.52, a clear sign as to who came out on top in that particular duel.

Here’s a portion of the replies from Liverpool fans to the Welshman’s post-match [Twitter](https://twitter.com/necowilliams01/status/1335704130250285059) post…
