# Fans react as Thiago delivers his own promising injury update

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/16/trent-alexander-arnold-mocks-jose-mourinho-after-liverpool-beat-tottenham/) midfielder [Thiago Alcantara](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/12/16/liverpool-fans-react-to-promising-injury-update-on-thiago/) has been [sidelined with a knee problem](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12147118/thiago-alcantara-liverpool-midfielder-few-weeks-away-from-knee-injury-return-says-jurgen-klopp) since the Merseyside derby two months ago and many Reds fans have been eagerly anticipating his return ever since.

Signed from Bayern Munich in the summer, the 29-year-old has been [hailed as a player](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/409671-thiago-will-not-only-improve-our-game-he-ll-improve-other-players) who could make a positive impact on Jurgen Klopp’s all-conquering side. In just [134 on-field minutes as a Liverpool player](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thiago/leistungsdaten/spieler/60444), the Spaniard has already shown what he can bring to the Anfield outfit.

It was [reported this week](https://www.sundayworld.com/sport/soccer/jurgen-klopp-reacts-to-reports-virgil-van-dijk-could-make-a-return-to-action-sooner-than-expected-39868966.html) that Thiago could return to the fold before the end of December. Those claims seemed to be endorsed last night as the midfielder, in situ at Anfield for Liverpool’s [2-1 victory over Tottenham](https://www.skysports.com/football/liverpool-vs-tottenham/report/428965), dropped a hint on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/Thiago6/status/1339299928112308231) regarding his impending return.
