# Firmino a doubt for Barcelona second leg

Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Roberto Firmino is likely to be ruled out of Liverpool’s Champions League semi final second leg against Barcelona on Tuesday.

The striker has been left out of the Reds’ squad to face Newcastle on Saturday evening, and was only fit enough to feature in the closing stages of Liverpool’s 3-0 defeat in the first leg against Barca.

And speaking ahead of Liverpool’s crucial Premier League tie against the Magpies, Jurgen Klopp revealed Firmino is unlikely to feature in the second leg on Tuesday when asked about the striker’s fitness, [the Metro report.](https://metro.co.uk/2019/05/04/jurgen-klopp-issues-worrying-roberto-firmino-injury-update-ahead-barcelona-clash-9413490/)

Liverpool will be looking to maintain the push for the Premier League title when they face Rafael Benitez’s Newcastle on Saturday evening.
