# Firmino in contention for Everton clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has revealed that Roberto Firmino could return to the squad for the trip to Goodison Park on Sunday.

Firmino limped off during the 0-0 draw at Old Trafford last weekend and missed Liverpool’s comfortable 5-0 victory over Watford on Wednesday evening at Anfield.

The Brazilian has been working hard to return from the ankle problem and is in contention to play against Everton.

As reported on the official [club website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/340073-liverpool-injury-update-roberto-firmino), Klopp said:

> He was out there in the running yesterday but we have to see how he reacts. I will see him in a few minutes for the first time since yesterday.

> He is very positive, that’s Bobby’s nature. We have to see. I don’t see any other player – OK, we have maybe two or three more of them – being even in contention for that game after the little problem he had.

> It looks really good but if he will be ready for Sunday, I don’t know in this second.

The Reds currently hold a one-point advantage over Manchester City at the top of the Premier League.
