# Firmino lavishes praise on Klopp

Roberto Firmino has hailed the influence of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian international was quizzed about how the Reds boss has helped the team mount a title challenge in the Premier League this season.

Liverpool are currently sitting pretty at the top of the table and lead reigning champions Manchester City by a single point as the halfway mark of the campaign draws ever closer.

Firmino has been a key player for Klopp once again this term but has been faced with critics following some inconsistent showings.

The former Hoffenheim attacker has netted just four times in 17 Premier League appearances this term, along with two in the Champions League group stages.

As quoted by the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/roberto-firmino-lifts-lid-what-15566992), though, the 27-year-old was quick to stress just how “joyful” it is to be a part of Klopp’s team. Firmino said:

> Playing for him is a really joyful experience. I love it as do the rest of the team. We’ve learned so much from him since he arrived and we’ve only got better.

> He is what you see in public: the passion, the father figure. And he’s also got ambition to win titles and give his best and as players, we can only win with what we learn from him.

The forward will be keen to get back on the scoresheet when the Reds travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League on Friday night.
