# FSG want £1billion for club after buy-out enquiry made from Middle East

Liverpool’s owners FSG have slapped a £1billion price tag on the club after a leading financier Amanda Staveley enquired about a possible sale, according to a report from John Richardson of [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpool-takeover-amanda-staveley-price-11303882).

Staveley, who has links to a number of billionaires in the Middle East, reportedly made initial soundings about the club’s availability last week and was told that FSG would want £1billion before they considered selling.

Staveley was spotted at St James’ Park when Liverpool drew 1-1 with Newcastle United and t was reported that she was there to possibly negotiate the sale of the North East club but she apparently asked about a possible takeover of Liverpool too.

The financier played a key part in Sheikh Mansour’s buyout of Manchester City iback in 2008 and with Liverpool apparently on the radar of a few Middle East billionaires, she could well be looking to help make yet another deal that sees a Premier League club bought out.

Staveley was in talks with Liverpool back in 2008 as she was the Chief Negotiator of Dubai International Capital (DIC) but then owner David Moores chose to sell to Tom Hicks and George Gillett rather than the consortium.
