# Gabby Agbonlahor believes Liverpool will be ‘angry’ following transfer failure

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/08/virals-liverpool-make-approach-for-barcelona-star-ronald-araujo/) will be ‘angry’ having failed to complete the signing of Fulham starlet [Fabio Carvalho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/02/04/virals-liverpool-agree-deal-for-fulham-starlet-fabio-carvalho/) in January.

That’s the view of [former Aston Villa striker](https://www.premierleague.com/players/2622/Gabriel-Agbonlahor/stats) Gabby Agbonlahor who believes that the Reds will face a challenge to land the 19-year-old at the end of the season.

That’s despite journalists such as Fabrizio Romano [claiming](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1489914546840125451) that a deal is very much still on the cards.

Reputable transfer insider Dean Jones also recently told [GIVEMESPORT](https://www.givemesport.com/87970027-reds-transfer-news-liverpool-are-frontrunners-to-sign-fabio-carvalho) that the Anfield club remain the ‘frontrunners’ for the capture.

Speaking to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/fabio-carvalho-liverpool-will-be-angry-as-deal-could-now-be-hijacked-pundit/), Agbonlahor suggested that the move could still be hijacked.

> Liverpool will be angry that they didn’t get it done in January even though talks are scheduled this month. What I like about them know is they are looking to increase their options, like Man City.

The 35-year-old also said that Carvalho may consider the [strength in depth](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/team/first-team) already in situ on Merseyside and opt for a more viable route into first-team action.

This season the England youth international has [scored eight times and provided five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/leistungsdaten/spieler/559263) in 21 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

So far was the transfer [down the line](https://twitter.com/TheFirmBL/status/1488251568986243076?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) that it would appear to be a mere formality for the summer.

However, with the attacking midfielder set to [become a free agent](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fabio-carvalho/profil/spieler/559263) at the end of the season, there could be further twists and turns to come.

Possessing an array of [outstanding attacking attributes](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/401385/Show/Fabio-Carvalho), Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp moreover will certainly hope the groundwork is enough to see Carvalho become a Red.
