# Galatasaray confirm deal to sign Lucas

Galatasaray’s Sporting Director Leven Nazifoglu has announced that his club have agreed a deal with Liverpool to sign Lucas, but the move is being held up by Jurgen Klopp as he has yet to give the green light for the formalities to be completed.

Liverpool have suffered a few injuries this season, including one to Lucas himself, and Klopp is apparently yet to decide if he wants to keep the Brazilian at the club a bit longer until more players return to full fitness.

As reported by the [Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/697137/Liverpool-Transfer-News-Galatasaray-Lucas-Jurgen-Klopp), Nazifoglu said:

> We have agreed terms with Liverpool on all fronts, there is some concern regarding Lucas’ injury but all that remains now is for Klopp to make his decision. If it goes ahead it will happen on Monday otherwise we will have to look elsewhere.

Liverpool’s injury crisis actually concerns their defenders more than their midfielders, but Klopp used Lucas as an emergency centre-back last year and could be thinking of doing so again whilst Mamadou Sakho, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez look to get back to full fitness.

Whether Galatasaray really will pull the plug on a deal remains to be seen, although Liverpool, and Klopp in particular, will not take kindly to being pressured.
