# Gianluigi Buffon and Marco Verratti will both miss Liverpool vs PSG

Liverpool have been given an early boost ahead of their opening Champions League group stage game with Paris Saint-Germain with the news that both Gianluigi Buffon and Marco Verratti will miss the game.

The Reds host PSG on matchday one in just over two weeks’ time and whilst the French side should have the likes of Neymar, Edinson Cavani and Kylian Mbappe in their squad for the game, they’ll be without the suspended Italian duo.

Verratti is banned for just the one game after he was sent off after picking up two yellow cards against Real Madrid as PSG crashed out of last year’s competition, whilst Buffon will serve a three-match ban after he was sent off for verbally abusing referee Michael Oliver when the Englishman awarded a late penalty for Madrid against Juventus.
