# Gomez and Lallana to miss Porto clash

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Joe Gomez and Adam Lallana will both miss Liverpool’s quarter-final first leg against FC Porto tomorrow.

As reported on the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/liverpool-fc-porto-injury-suspension-list-team-news-predicted-lineup-champions-league-a4112191.html?utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#Echobox=1554730342), Gomez has just recently returned to full training and Klopp does not want to rush the young defender back into action too quickly.

The Englishman suffered a broken leg in December against Burnley and should be ready to return in a few weeks. Klopp said:

> We wanted to have Joe around, not because he is now 100 per cent ready but it was just nice to have him.

> He could be maybe \[available\] but for him, it’s better to have more sessions. Joe needs that, he is not long enough in training.

Lallana missed Liverpool’s victory over Southampton last Friday after picking up a minor muscle problem during training. Klopp said:

> Adam was only a little thing, we don’t have to talk about that. It kept him out for the weekend and maybe for tomorrow.

Liverpool will be hoping to stamp their authority in this matchup and will be confident of taking a lead into the second leg.
