# Guardiola reveals his brilliant reaction to late Liverpool winner

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed his brilliant reaction to the late goal that sealed all three points for Liverpool against Spurs.

Quizzed about the goal ahead of side’s game with Cardiff, [as reported by Jamie Jackson](https://twitter.com/JamieJackson___/status/1113060563116994561), Guardiola revealed the few words that he said when Toby Alderweireld put the ball in his own net.

The late goal surprised everyone, including Guardiola, as the chance looked to have gone for Liverpool in the dying moments of the game at Anfield.

Guardiola would have no doubt been hoping that the game would go on to end 1-1 and for Liverpool to drop more points.

A draw would have left Liverpool level on points with City, who boast a game in hand, firmly putting the latter in the driving seat in the title race.

However, the result saw Liverpool move back to the top of the Premier League, but they have played a game more, with City in action on Wednesday night.
