# Henderson a major doubt for Liverpool’s clash with West Ham

Jordan Henderson is a major doubt for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with West Ham, according to the *[Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool-captain-jordan-henderson-major-doubt-a4367131.html)*‘s David Lynch.

The Reds host the Hammers on Monday night and they’ll be looking to bounce back from their [midweek loss to Atletico Madrid](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51533273).

Henderson limped off in the second half at the Wanda Metropolitano, having suffered a hamstring injury.

The Liverpool skipper could now miss the West Ham game, as he faces a potential spell on the sidelines.

Henderson’s likely absence is an obvious blow to the Reds, considering the 29-year-old’s form this season.

He is seen as a [front-runner](https://www.skysports.com/watch/video/11933228/robertson-henderson-is-player-of-the-year) to win the PFA Player of the Year award, not only leading Liverpool superbly but also contributing in the final third, [scoring three goals and registering five assists](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/68659/Show/Jordan-Henderson).

I think this is a perfect opportunity for Naby Keita to shine, however, with the former RB Leipzig star having struggled to earn playing time this season.

The Guinean needs a run in the team to thrive, in my opinion, and he will bring more guile in the middle of the park.

Keita is averaging [1.8 dribbles per game](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/243510/Show/Naby-Keita) this season, compared to [0.5](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/68659/Show/Jordan-Henderson) for Henderson and [1.3](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/33568/Show/Georginio-Wijnaldum) for Gini Wijnaldum.
