# ‘Here we go’ – Fabrizio Romano confirms €55m Liverpool transfer target will join Chelsea

**Liverpool knew they wouldn’t be active in the transfer market heading into deadline day, at least in terms of adding players to their current squad.**

A deal to sign young goalkeeper Lucca Brughmans has been officially announced, while Djylian N’Guessan is also close to agreeing a deal to move to Anfield in the summer of 2027.

However, in terms of first-team recruitment for Andoni Iraola, [Bradley Barcola](https://readliverpoolfc.com/news/andoni-iraola-responds-directly-when-asked-if-bradley-barcola-will-join-liverpool/) was viewed as their last summer signing, barring a late surprise.

However, a few days before the deadline, it was reported that [Lamine Camara was one to watch for Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/news/liverpool-transfer-news-as-e50m-bid-rejected-for-midfielder/) as they remain on the lookout for market opportunities.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that he is joining Chelsea after the Blues struck a deal with Monaco.

## Liverpool target Lamine Camara joining Chelsea

He wrote on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Chelsea agree deal in principle to sign [Lamine Camara](https://readliverpoolfc.com/tag/lamine-camara/) from AS Monaco, here we go!

“Fee worth €55m and authorization to travel for medical. Initial agreement done now running in order to complete medical and formal steps in time.”

Camara recently played at Anfield in pre-season and has developed into quite the player. Liverpool could do well with another defensive-minded midfielder in their squad, so the 22-year-old seemed like an obvious fit.

However, he will now be moving to Stamford Bridge to line up alongside [Moises Caicedo](https://readchelsea.com/2026/08/30/chelsea-suffer-moises-caicedo-blow-just-14-minutes-into-brighton-return/), a player Liverpool fans know too well after that transfer saga almost three years ago.
