# ‘I hear’ – David Ornstein says Liverpool could walk away from £70m transfer

**Liverpool are set for a busy end to the summer transfer window as they continue to remain on the lookout for attacking players.**

Links with Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye have dominated the headlines in recent weeks as the Reds remain locked in talks with PSG.

However, earlier this week, it was reported that [Liverpool have had two bids rejected for Yankuba Minteh](https://readliverpoolfc.com/news/advanced-journalist-says-all-parties-confident-70m-player-will-join-liverpool/).

And now, David Ornstein feels the Reds could walk away from the deal if the Seagulls don’t reduce their asking price.

## Liverpool could walk away from Yankuba Minteh deal

[Minteh is valued at £70m](https://readliverpoolfc.com/news/advanced-journalist-says-all-parties-confident-70m-player-will-join-liverpool/) and there is confidence the deal will be done, according to sources in Gambia.

However, Ornstein believes Liverpool have alternatives in mind if they can’t sign the Brighton man and are prepared to walk away from the deal if the price tag can’t be lowered.

“It definitely stands a chance,” said Ornstein via TNT Sport.

“But if the numbers are not right for Liverpool, I hear that they have another option they are weighing up and they could pivot to if it doesn’t suit them with Minteh. I’m not ruling \[Minteh\] out, of course.”

The strategy makes sense, but the truth is Liverpool don’t have too much time to get deals over the line.

They have been in talks with PSG for nearly a month now for Barcola and Mbaye and neither deal seems to have progressed.

The upcoming week is crucial, so expect each of these three transfer sagas to draw to a climax, one way or another.
