# James Pearce says ‘absolutely zero chance’ of Chelsea signing £99m Liverpool forward

It is easy to forget that star forward Mohamed Salah has [already plied his trade](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/transfers/spieler/148455/transfer_id/1007836) in the Premier League.

Prior to his move from AS Roma to Liverpool in [2017](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/transfers/spieler/148455/transfer_id/1803721), the Egyptian spent more than two years with Chelsea.

However, his time at the club didn’t quite go as planned, with him failing to make an impact and spending time out on loan.

Despite his tough time at Stamford Bridge, Salah managed to turn things around.

The now 28-year-old has become one of the most feared finishers in world football and has the [track record](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/148455) to prove it.

This is why it had been [reported](https://www.eurosport.co.uk/football/transfers/2020-2021/football-news-chelsea-ready-to-bring-mohamed-salah-back-from-liverpool-this-summer-paper-round_sto8308630/story.shtml) that the club are in pursuit of him once again.

According to [The Athletic’s](https://theathletic.co.uk/2573769/) James Pearce, however, there is ‘absolutely zero chance’ of the Blues signing the Egyptian…

The news, as cited by The Anfield Buzz above, is a positive one for fans but also not a surprise.

Salah had a tough time at Chelsea and has won almost everything possible with Liverpool.

It wouldn’t make sense for him to backtrack in his career and return to the London club.

Although he often finds himself [linked with a move away](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/05/07/psg-salah-mbappe-replacement/), Chelsea is clearly a no go destination for the winger.

Salah has been so important to the Reds this season with [29 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455) in all competitions.

Losing that fire power upfront would be a huge loss to any team.
