# Jamie Carragher names top 10 Premier League strikers

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/04/02/kevin-phillips-backs-magnificent-diogo-jota-for-starting-role/)legend turned TV pundit [Jamie Carragher](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/03/05/jamie-carragher-calls-for-something-big-this-summer-at-liverpool/) has named his top 10 all-time Premier League strikers and there’s room for two Anfield stars among the list.

Writing for the [Daily Telegraph](https://readliverpoolfc.com/op%2010%20all-time%20Premier%20League%20strikers), Carragher, who [played 737 times](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/Profile/277?) for the club, named former Arsenal ace Thierry Henry as his number one, whilst ex-Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez and current Red, Mohamed Salah ranked eighth and sixth respectively.

Perhaps most surprisingly was Alan Shearers third-place spot, given the man synonymous with Newcastle United is by far and away the [Premier League’s all-time top scorer](https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/goals?se=-1).

Salah, who is just [eight goals away from reaching 100](https://www.premierleague.com/players/5178/Mohamed-Salah/overview) in the English top-flight, has been prolific since arriving at Anfield – winning [back to back Golden Boots](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/salah-targets-third-golden-boot-after-achieving-premier/2vv6bltw6bdc1pgg7451lkh08).

Meanwhile, Suarez, a [controversial figure](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/apr/21/luis-suarez-biting-controversy-timeline)during his spell on Merseyside, scored [69 league goals in just 110 appearances](https://www.premierleague.com/players/4138/Luis-Su%C3%A1rez/stats) in his Anfield career.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

Naming and creating a fair order without bias is almost an impossible task.

However, both Reds named are well worthy of their places in the conversation given their[goal records](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/luis-suarez/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/44352), albeit neither had the longevity of the names above them.

Should Salah complete[another two or three seasons with Liverpool](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mohamed-salah/leistungsdaten/spieler/148455/plus/0?saison=ges) his name will almost certainly feature higher up in the echelons of elite strikers.
