# Jason Cundy: Liverpool signing Ryan Fraser is a “no-brainer”

Former Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur star turned TV and radio pundit, Jason Cundy, says Liverpool signing Bournemouth’s Ryan Fraser is a “no-brainer”.

The Reds were linked with a move for Fraser earlier this week, but Liverpool quickly came out and said that a move for the Scottish star wasn’t on the cards.

However, speaking on TalkSport, Cundy said that the Reds should make a move for the Scotland international as it would almost be a risk-free move.

He said on [TalkSport](https://twitter.com/talkSPORT/status/1193935559204524032):

> It’s a no brainer! Certainly, the price tag won’t be expensive. He can sign for four or five years and they will still have a residual value on him. It makes perfect sense for me.

Cundy then discussed the other clubs who could improve by signing Fraser and he tipped his former club Spurs to make a move for the Bournemouth star.

> I’m not sure Arsenal or Man United need him. I can see him at Spurs; I can definitely see that fit. But when Liverpool come knocking, why would you go to Spurs?

Ever since the Virgil van Dijk saga, Liverpool have often been quick to rubbish any stories that claim that they’re in talks with players from other Premier League clubs and they did that with Fraser.

The Reds seemingly have a good relationship with The Cherries, who’ve signed a few players from Liverpool over the years, and they currently have Harry Wilson on loan too, so Liverpool wouldn’t want this potential story to jeopardise that.

In terms of if Fraser would fit at Liverpool, he’d only be a back-up player and if he’d be happy with that role, then he would be a decent squad player, one who could add pace to the team from the bench.

However, buying back-up players isn’t a tactic that is often fruitful and as Champions of Europe and one of the best teams in England, Liverpool should probably be aiming higher than Fraser.
