# Jason McAteer urges Jurgen Klopp to sign N’golo Kante

Former Liverpool defender Jason McAteer has advised current Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp to make a stunning move to sign Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, saying he could be the final piece in the jigsaw as the Reds look to become the best team in the world.

As reported by the [Racing Post](https://www.racingpost.com/sport/), McAteer said that Kante and Fabinho are the best holding midfield players in the Premier League and that pairing the two of them together would be a great move for Klopp.

Speaking of Fabinho and Kante, he said:

> He and N’Golo Kante at Chelsea are the two best players in the Premier League playing that role. Kante is definitely one of the final pieces in Jurgen Klopp’s jigsaw.

Most teams in the world would love to sign N’golo Kante if given the chance. He’s won the Premier League with two different clubs, he’s been the PFA Player of the Year and he’s a World Cup winner.

However, the chances of selling him, especially to Liverpool seem very, very slim indeed so whilst McAteer’s idea is a good one, in theory, it looks to be more of a pipedream than a realistic suggestion for a transfer target.
