# Joe Gomez to miss a month of action

Liverpool will be without Joe Gomez for a month after he was injured playing for England, according to [ESPN](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/liverpool/story/3432265/liverpools-joe-gomez-out-injured-a-month-will-miss-champions-league-games-sources?ex_cid=fw_affid68).

Gomez was forced off after just 11 minutes as England defeated the Netherlands in a friendly on Friday evening with an injury that is set to keep him on the sidelines until the end of April.

That means he’ll miss the Champions League double header with Manchester City, as well as the Premier League games against Crystal Palace, Everton and Bournemouth.

Gomez has been used predominantly as a right-back for Liverpool this season and his absence means that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be expected to play a lot of games in the next few weeks.

Nathaniel Clyne is back in training but is not match fit yet, but Jurgen Klopp might be forced to use the England international at some point between now and the end of April as it’s unlikely that Alexander-Arnold will be able to play in every game.
