# Jurgen Klopp gives Liverpool green light for €75m Marco Asensio deal

Liverpool are reportedly ready to firm up their interest in Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.

According to Spanish outlet [El Desmarque, cited by Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-ready-throw-house-window-real-madrid-star-zidane-resisting/), Jurgen Klopp is keen on signing the Spaniard this summer and will give the green light for the Reds to spend up to €75 million on the 23-year-old.

The report goes on to add that Klopp sees the Spaniard as a perfect addition to his side, however, Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is keen on keeping hold of the playmaker and may only sanction a deal if Sadio Mane heads to the Bernabeu.

Liverpool will rebuff any approaches for Mane in the coming weeks and will only look to do a deal for Asensio without any players heading the other way.

The left-footed star has made over 130 appearances for Madrid since joining from Mallorca back in 2015, and Asensio may well end his four-year association with the Spanish giants for a move to Merseyside if the latest reports are to be believed.
