# Jurgen Klopp lauds ‘outstanding’ Arsenal starlet Gabriel Martinelli

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2022/01/21/virals-liverpool-fans-hail-world-class-diogo-jota-performance/) manager Jurgen Klopp has gone on the charm offensive for Arsenal forward [Gabriel Martinelli](https://readliverpoolfc.com/Gabriel%20Martinelli) following the Carabao Cup semi-final.

On a night whereby Klopp’s own special attacker scored twice to seal the Reds’ spot in a showcase final with Chelsea, the German boss reserved [special praise](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1484287541771653129) for the 20-year-old Brazilian.

> Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp: “Martinelli, by the way, everyone should remember that name. He’s an outstanding player”. ✨🇧🇷 [#AFC](https://twitter.com/hashtag/AFC?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [@afcstuff](https://twitter.com/afcstuff?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/sP8r9FZNrf](https://t.co/sP8r9FZNrf)

This isn’t the first time Klopp has found time to hail the [three-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-martinelli/nationalmannschaft/spieler/655488/verein_id/37018) Brazil Under 23 international – having once [described](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/gabriel-martinelli-jurgen-klopp-liverpool-17712825) the ‘incredible’ ace as the ‘talent of the century’.

Despite ultimately being on the losing side, Martinelli has clearly suitably impressed and could be the subject of [renewed interest](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1243736/Liverpool-news-Gabriel-Martinelli-Bukayo-Saka-transfer-Arsenal) from Anfield.

This season the left-winger has [scored four times and registered three assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-martinelli/leistungsdaten/spieler/655488) in 20 appearances across all competitions.

Previously [reported](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1243736/Liverpool-news-Gabriel-Martinelli-Bukayo-Saka-transfer-Arsenal) to have been ‘scouting’ the Brazilian alongside Bukayo Saka, this latest praise comes as little surprise.

Valued at £25.2million and under contract at Emirates Stadium until 2025 ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/gabriel-martinelli/marktwertverlauf/spieler/655488)), signing Martinelli would be a difficult venture at present.

However, with UEFA Champions League football [almost a certainty](https://www.premierleague.com/tables) on Merseyside next season and far from it at Arsenal, the talented star could perhaps be persuaded.

A strong finisher, dribbler and worker ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/380706/Show/Gabriel-Martinelli)), the versatile forward certainly possesses all the attributes to be a success under an admiring Klopp.
