# Juventus hoping Khedira can lure Can to Italy

Juventus are hoping that their very own Sami Khedira could have a role in helping to bring Emre Can to the club as his contract runs down at Anfield, according to a report from the [Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/juventus-stepping-up-emre-can-11507360).

Can’s current deal expires in the summer and could, therefore, be available on a free transfer if the club do not tie down the 23-year-old to a new deal.

Juventus did attempt to bring the German international in the summer but the Reds turned down the bid and feel as though Can has an important role to play this season.

Liverpool have a number of options in the middle of the park with Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all competing for two positions in the team, casting further doubt about Can’s future at Anfield.

It’s thought that Can is keen to stay on at Liverpool but only if the club inserts a buy-out clause in any potential new contract.

Klopp is also eager to keep his fellow countryman at the club in January, despite the possibility of losing him for nothing in the summer.
