# Kevin Hatchard waxes lyrical over Liverpool target Jude Bellingham

[Liverpool](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/28/pundit-hails-great-tyler-morton-display-against-preston-north-end/) have been heavily linked with a sensational move for Borussia Dortmund sensation [Jude Bellingham](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/10/13/fabrizio-romano-confirms-next-step-for-liverpool-target-jude-bellingham/).

The Reds have been tipped to make a move for the England international and [reports](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10135389/Jude-Bellingham-valued-101m-Borussia-Dortmund-look-fend-Liverpool-interest.html) have claimed that the Bundesliga side have placed a £101million price tag on the teenager in order to fend off any interest.

Speaking on [talkSPORT (Wednesday, October 27 5:40pm)](https://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1635346800/1635352200/), journalist Kevin Hatchard waxed lyrical about the 18-year-old and suggested a move to Anfield would be a worthwhile one even at the mooted fee.

> He would be (a bargain). What you’ve got is a guy for right now. The fact he’s 18 is a complete irrelevance. You have to ask yourself ‘Could cope with top-flight games?’ Yes. He’s shone in Champions League games. He can fit in any top team, he’s adaptable, he listens, he’s become a leader already.

Hatchard went on to describe Bellingham as a ‘remarkable player’ before co-host Darren Gough hailed the [eight-cap ace](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/nationalmannschaft/spieler/581678/verein_id/3299) as a ‘superstar’.

The journalist – somewhat of a [Bellingham superfan](https://twitter.com/kevinhatchard/status/1451936337238634498) – also explained how the [former Birmingham City starlet](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/581678) would be able to compete for a starting berth in Jurgen Klopp’s side immediately.

> I paused for a moment in commentary here, because I was so impressed and amazed by what Bellingham had just done.\

> He is 18, folks. [#bcfc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/bcfc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) made a good one, and [#bvb](https://twitter.com/hashtag/bvb?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) are helping him to shine. England captain in the making. If you’ve even seen him once, you’ll know what I mean. [https://t.co/NmoxWfproF](https://t.co/NmoxWfproF)

So far this season Bellingham has [scored three times and registered six assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/leistungsdaten/spieler/581678) in 15 appearances across all competitions.

### READ LIVERPOOL VERDICT

This truly was a glowing reference.

Despite a reluctance to spend big too often in the transfer market, Liverpool have previously shelled out on transformational signings – a bracket Hatchard believes the [£63million valued](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jude-bellingham/marktwertverlauf/spieler/581678) star would fit in.

As the experienced Jordan Henderson and James Milner head towards the twilight of their Liverpool careers, landing a player of [Bellingham’s ability and potential](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/379868/Show/Jude-Bellingham) would see the Reds’ midfield in reliable hands for the next decade.
