# Klopp confirms Can out of Palace clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that German midfielder Emre Can has been ruled out of the trip to Crystal Palace on Monday.

As reported by the [club’s official website](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/295888-liverpool-injury-emre-can-nathaniel-clyne), Klopp admitted that the midfielder would be unavailable for tomorrow’s match but hinted that the problem is not too serious.

> Emre is out for the weekend. \[He is\] getting better and better and better, much better. Hopefully he can have a normal session with us on Sunday morning and then should be fine again.

Rumours continue to emerge about the player’s future at the club beyond the end of the season, with the Reds seemingly no closer to making a breakthrough in contract talks with the player.

Can’s absence is a blow for the Reds, but they have been boosted by the news that defender Nathaniel Clyne is closing in on his first-team return.

The 26-year-old has not featured for the club this season after a string of injuries kept him sidelined.

Clyne’s absence has seen Trent Alexander-Arnold break through and hold down a regular place in the Liverpool side this season.
