# Klopp delivers update on Henderson’s condition

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp delivered a positive update on the condition of Jordan Henderson following his side’s 2-1 win away at Fulham.

The Reds narrowly defeated their relegation-threatened counterparts at Craven Cottage on Sunday, as goals from Sadio Mane and James Milner helped them back to the top of the table.

Fulham threatened to put the team’s title hopes in jeopardy when Ryan Babel equalised after Virgil van Dijk and Alisson’s miscommunication at the back, but Liverpool ran out victorious eventually.

Klopp did not have Henderson available for selection ahead of his side’s trip to London, with the England international having suffered an ankle injury in midweek.

The midfielder was forced off in the first half of Liverpool’s 3-1 win away at Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Wednesday, raising concerns that he could face an extended spell on the sidelines.

However, Klopp was optimistic about the captain’s condition and stated that he is set to join up with the England squad for their international fixtures in the coming weeks.

As quoted by the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-boss-jurgen-klopp-gives-15988987), the boss said:

> Yeah, it’s Hendo and Hendo will go to the national team. I think he will have two or three days at Melwood with his rehab.

> But it looks positive, and I think he is in contact with Gareth \[Southgate\] that when he can train, he goes to the national team.

> And if he plays, then Gareth will decide. It was not that serious. And now in three or four days, he should be fine.
