# Klopp determined to win silverware at Liverpool this season

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been discussing his desire to win silverware at the club.

The German boss has not yet won a trophy during his time in charge of the Reds but has acknowledged that his side must kick on and get their hands on some silverware this season.

Liverpool came close to securing a title last season but narrowly missed out, as Real Madrid defeated them in the final of the Champions League.

Klopp, as quoted by [the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopp-insists-second-nothing-13402065), delved into his determination to help Liverpool win trophies in the immediate future and insisted that finishing in second place means “nothing” in football.

> In most sports, coming second in the Olympics you come home with a silver medal. In football, it’s nothing. And it’s nothing for me as well. I want to win it, and I know that’s a responsibility.

> I put all I have, knowledge, passion, heart, experience, I throw everything into the club 100 per cent. I don’t keep anything back. It should work, actually, at one point. But until then, we should have a really good time.

Liverpool are currently on a 12-year run without having won a trophy, following their 2006 triumph in the League Cup.

> Nobody wants to look back in 10 or 20 years and say the best time we had without winning anything was when Klopp was in, it was so funny, all that stuff. That’s not really something you want to achieve.

Klopp is out to put an end to the Reds’ shortage of silverware, however, with the pressure now on Liverpool to kick on and challenge Manchester City for their Premier League crown.
