# Klopp lauds Milner’s desire to improve

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been waxing lyrical about the Reds’ experienced midfielder James Milner.

The former Manchester City star has established himself as a vital cog in Klopp’s Liverpool side and has earned the praise and respect of his manager after starting the season strongly once again.

Milner impressed in the midfield against West Ham as Liverpool secured a 4-0 win in their first outing of the season before he netted a penalty as the Reds came away from Crystal Palace with a 2-0 victory.

As quoted by [the Telegraph](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2018/08/24/jurgen-klopp-age-no-issue-james-milner-could-play-38/), Klopp discussed just what makes Milner such a special player for his side and tipped him to play at a high level for many more years yet.

> Some players can play until 36, 37 even 38, and because of his physical abilities, I am pretty sure Milly is one of them if he is lucky with injuries. The end is not to see, and his desire to improve is exceptional.

> Since I worked with him, it was always good. He started in different positions, different systems. He was full-back, now he is in midfield, but all our players are influential. That’s how it should be. He is a very good player.

Milner will be hoping to perform for Liverpool once again this weekend as they gear up for the visit of Brighton and Hove Albion, who will be looking to build on their 3-2 win against Manchester United last Sunday.
