# Klopp likely to use Milner at right-back

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is prepared to deploy James Milner at right-back following news of Trent Alexander-Arnold’s knee injury, according to [the Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jurgen-klopps-plan-make-liverpool-13862313).

It is reported that the Reds boss is keen to make use of the midfielder’s experience and will look to use him on the right-hand side of the defence until more natural options within squad become available.

Alexander-Arnold sustained a knee problem during the warm-up prior to Liverpool’s win against Brighton and Hove Albion and it has since emerged that he will miss four weeks of action.

With Nathaniel Clyne having been sent out on loan to Bournemouth until the end of the season, the Reds have been left with no recognised right-back.

However, the Liverpool manager appears to be intent on using Milner in this role as the former England international’s versatility is once again put to the test.

Fabinho is also capable of operating in defence but it seems he will be kept in the midfield, with Reds boss Klopp having other ideas.
