# Klopp wants Draxler to be Coutinho replacement

While Philippe Coutinho is performing better than he possibly ever has for Liverpool right now, there’s still that element of doubt that he could leave for Barcelona in the near future.

Barcelona remain interested in the Brazilian after seeing multiple bids turned down by Liverpool the summer but the Reds are determined to keep hold of their star playmaker.

However, should they receive a bid they simply cannot refuse or Coutinho’s position at the club becomes untenable, then contingency plans are being drawn up.

[Liverpool are said to be interested in signing PSG winger Julian Draxler](https://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre) if they were to sell Coutinho in the near future with the German seen as a like-for-like replacement for the ex-Inter Milan attacking midfielder.

Draxler only joined PSG back in January but the former Schalke star finds himself struggling for regular game time with Edinson Cavani and summer signings Kylian Mbappe and Neymar above him in the pecking order.

Arsenal have been long-term admirers of Draxler as well.
