# Kylian Mbappe tipped to join Real Madrid over Liverpool this summer

Former Paris Saint-Germain forward Jese has tipped [Kylian Mbappe](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/02/03/liverpool-suffer-potential-major-blow-in-attempts-to-sign-kylian-mbappe/) to join Real Madrid over Liverpool this summer.

The 22-year-old’s future could be one of the main transfer sagas this summer as he weighs up his options. PSG are keen to tie Mbappe down to a new deal, with his current contract [expiring](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kylian-mbappe/profil/spieler/342229) in the summer of 2022.

[Liverpool](https://sportwitness.co.uk/liverpool-manager-want-to-coach-star-next-season-klopp-has-direct-line-with-player/) and [Real Madrid](https://www.90min.com/posts/real-madrid-very-confident-kylian-mbappe-deal-2021-psg-exclusive) have both been reportedas leading candidates to sign the Frenchman, but speaking to *[El Partidazo de COPE](https://twitter.com/partidazocope/status/1357122323845898249?s=20)* \[via *[The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/psg-real-madrid-mbappe-transfer-23441311?_ga=2.235813697.1514246198.1612255703-2095908985.1610891188)*\], Jese claimed that a move to the Santiago Bernabeu was most likely for his [one-time PSG team-mate](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jese/gemeinsameSpiele/spieler/134936/gegner/342229/kriterium/0/wettbewerb//liga/0/verein/583):

The Las Palmas striker said of Mbappe: “He would love to go to Real Madrid. His idol has always been Cristiano \[Ronaldo\]. He loves Madrid and I am sure he will play there one day.”

### Read Liverpool Verdict

It is unknown how serious Liverpool’s interest in Mbappe is, but they should be doing all they can to sign the forward. The France international is a sensational prospect who, at 22, is already [one of the best](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/goal-50-2020-the-best-50-players-in-the-world/1drx0x11z7i8a17j14njsth0ew#1jelbigu635xz1ur24cqy6tqle) players on the planet.

Blessed with unstoppable [pace, movement](https://www.ligue1.com/Articles/NEWS/2020/04/18/kylian-mbappe-the-fastest-player-in-the-world) and end product – he has [scored 107 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kylian-mbappe/alletore/spieler/342229) in just 149 appearances for PSG –  he is an ideal long-term replacement for any of Liverpool’s front three for those very reasons.

The [lure of Madrid](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/what-galactico-ronaldo-beckham-all-real-madrids-super/1lrrb6x9j0n9f1actzefqw47am) often proves too much to turn down for some top players, however, so it does feel as though a switch there, or extending his stay at the Parc des Princes, is more likely than a move to Anfield.
