# Lallana ruled out for three months

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana has been ruled out for the first three months of the season with a thigh injury, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed in an official statement made by the club’s website.

The England international had been enjoying a positive pre-season ahead of the upcoming campaign, but his hopes of hitting the ground running have suffered a blow.

Lallana, who is a big part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the season ahead, has featured prominently in the club’s friendlies so far and his absence is sure to be a big loss to the Reds.

The injury to the former Southampton man could very well force Liverpool’s hand in the transfer market, too. The midfield area somewhat lacks depth and this has only highlighted Liverpool’s lack of options in the middle.

It now looks unlikely that Lallana will feature again for Liverpool before November, but he’ll be keen to make himself available for what promises to be an exciting second half of the campaign.

It’s bad news for Lallana himself, too, with him naturally keen to impress Gareth Southgate ahead of England’s 2018 World Cup campaign at the end of the season.
