# Larouci an injury doubt for FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury

Yasser Larouci is an injury doubt for Liverpool, ahead of their FA Cup fourth round replay against Shrewsbury Town.

The Reds could only [draw 2-2](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51208528) away to their League One opponents on January 26th, having led 2-0 early in the second half.

It means a replay is required to determine the victor, with Chelsea awaiting in the fifth round.

Neil Critchley will manage a young Liverpool team on Tuesday night, but Larouci could miss out.

Speaking in his press conference on Monday, Critchley said the next couple training sessions will be key for the 19-year-old, with the *Evening Standard*‘s [David Lynch](https://twitter.com/LynchStandard/status/1224329086388121600?s=20) confirming as much.

From a personal point of view, I think it will be a huge blow for Larouci if he isn’t fit, considering this could be his first-ever senior start at Anfield.

If he doesn’t make it, however, it will be a great chance for Adam Lewis to seize his opportunity.

The former Liverpool Under-18s captain has seen his progress stunted by [fitness issues](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/academy/368470-adam-lewis-injury-update), but I believe he is a superior footballer to Larouci.

While not necessarily possessing the Algerian’s athleticism, he has greater technical ability, providing real quality with his left foot, both in-play and from [set-pieces](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9NoJ91T0dQ).

Both represent strong options, though, as Liverpool’s youngsters look to prove their worth.
