# Leicester plan new deal for Liverpool target Ben Chilwell

Liverpool will face a battle to land Ben Chilwell in the summer following the news that he is closing in on a new deal at the King Power Stadium.

[According to John Percy of the Telegraph](https://t.co/swPAuWdXeD), Chilwell is set to put pen to paper on an improved deal to reward his recent impressive performances.

He started both of England’s games over the international break, a 0-0 draw with Croatia and a 3-2 win over Spain, and gave a good account of himself.

The Telegraph says that Leicester are confident of completing the deal over the weekend as they look to tie Chilwell down as quickly as possible.

His superb form for club and country may start to attract interest from some of the clubs above them in the Premier League food chain.

The 21-year-old signed a five-year contract with Leicester in 2016 after breaking through the academy set-up, but looks set to extend that deal further.
