# Liverpool and Man United in race to sign Ramello Mitchell

Liverpool and Manchester United are set to battle to sign Birmingham City forward Ramello Mitchell, according to a report from [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-liverpool-both-eyeing-13917164).

Mitchell has only recently turned 16-years-old but features regularly for Birmingham’s U18 side and he has seemingly been getting a lot of attention from scouts of Premier League sides.

The teenager scored for City’s U16s at the weekend as they lost to Sheffield Wednesday and the Mirror report that both the Reds and the Red Devils had scouts there watching him.

Liverpool got a first-hand look at Mitchell in November last year as he scored two goals for Birmingham’s U16s against the Reds in an 8-4 hammering in the Blades Cup final.

Mitchell has yet to sign a professional contract with the Blues and as such, he’d be available to the Reds for a nominal compensatory fee should they decide to make a move for him at some point in the near future.
