# Liverpool and Tottenham to send scouts to watch Cakir this weekend

Liverpool and Tottenham will send scouts to watch Ugurcan Cakir in action this weekend, according to *[Fotospor](https://www.fotospor.com/haber-trabzonspor-besiktas--trabzonspor-macina-akin-var-364875)*.

Cakir is expected to start for Trabzonspor against Besiktas on Saturday, in their Super Lig clash.

The Reds have been [tipped](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/31/trabzonspor-reject-e24m-bid-from-liverpool-for-cakir/) to make a move for the 23-year-old in the past, following some impressive performances between the sticks.

He has made [20 appearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/258840/Show/Ugurcan-%C3%87akir) in the league this season, even registering [one assist](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1405131/Live/Turkey-Super-Lig-2019-2020-Trabzonspor-Besiktas) – also against Besiktas – matching [Alisson](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/114147/Show/Alisson)‘s efforts in the process, after the Brazilian [teed-up](https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/383826-alisson-becker-form-expectation-jurgen-klopp) Mohamed Salah in the [2-0 win over Manchester United](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LDJbcWJI2UA) last month.

Although Cakir looks an impressive young ‘keeper, I don’t see any need for Liverpool to sign him. The goalkeeping department at Anfield is well-stocked at the moment, led by the [incomparable](https://metro.co.uk/2020/02/15/jamie-carragher-hails-best-goalkeeper-world-alisson-stunning-save-norwich-12246787/) Alisson.

In Adrian, the Reds also have a strong replacement for the 27-year-old, as he showed Liverpool [won all 10 Premier League games](https://www.lfchistory.net/Players/Player/GamesPerSeason/1338-129) that he has been involved in this season.

Unless the Spaniard moves on this summer, which has been [mooted](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/02/05/real-betis-eye-up-summer-move-for-adrian/), I don’t believe Cakir shouldn’t be considered a transfer target.
