# Boost for Liverpool as Fabinho appears to be back in training

[Fabinho](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/11/06/klopp-provides-positive-injury-update-oxlade-chamberlain-fabinho/)appears to be back in training for Liverpool, judging by his social media activity on Friday.

The Brazilian has been missing since picking up a [hamstring injury](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/10/28/liverpool-fans-bemoan-worrying-hamstring-injury-to-fabinho/) against Midtjylland last month, adding to the Reds’ [current injury woes](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php).

The hope is that he will be available for the visit of Leicester City on Saturday week, especially with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez [both possibly absent for the rest of the season](https://www.premierinjuries.com/injury-table.php).

On Friday, Fabinho posted a photo on Instagram showing him arriving at Liverpool’s new AXA Training Centre, as highlighted by [@LFCTS](https://twitter.com/LFCTS/status/1327187352377298945?s=20) on Twitter.

It could be that he is there to receive continued treatment, of course, but that he has pointed out arriving for training suggests he could be back in action soon.

The return of Fabinho will be enormous for Liverpool, especially given the current absences with which Jurgen Klopp has to contend. The 27-year-old was superb at centre-back before injury, excelling against [Chelsea](https://www.givemesport.com/1601164-chelsea-02-liverpool-fabinhos-individual-highlights-at-centreback-are-very-impressive) and [Ajax](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/15117/12110782/ajax-0-1-liverpool-fabinho-impresses-at-centre-back-as-reds-cope-without-injured-virgil-van-dijk) in particular.

With Liverpool [well-stocked in midfield](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/kadernachposition/verein/31), and with no [Van Dijk or Gomez](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11669/12108544/joe-gomez-and-virgil-van-dijk-who-are-the-young-liverpool-players-to-cover-injured-duo) for many months, Fabinho will likely be predominantly used as a defender this season. With Joel Matip [injury-prone](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/joel-matip/verletzungen/spieler/82105), the Brazilian could be the man tasked with holding the Reds’ defence together in 2020/21.
