# Liverpool CEO Moore hails Salah’s impact at the club

Liverpool CEO Peter Moore has revealed how Mohamed Salah has helped boost the clubs social media interactions around the globe.

As reported on the [Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-ceo-peter-moore-details-15719166), Salah has been in prolific goalscoring form ever since he joined the club from AS Roma for £36.9m in June 2017.

The Egyptian quickly became a fan favourite at Anfield and by the end of his first season with the club, he had scored a remarkable 44 goals in all competitions.

He is now halfway through his second season at the club and he’s still as clinical as ever, leading the Premier League top scorer charts with 16 goals.

When signing Salah, Liverpool automatically also got an army of his supporters on their side and Moore has detailed how he has boosted the club’s online profiles. He said:

> The moment we signed Mohamed, straight away we looked at our social media platforms and you could look at IP addresses and immediately see \[a huge rise in followers\], in particular from Egypt.

> But there is a pan-Arabian pride from all people in the Middle East, regardless of whether you are Egyptian. We saw Jordan, and we obviously saw the UAE. It breaks down some of the barriers in this region when it’s an Arab player that is playing, and not only playing but arguably one of the best players in the world and scoring goals for fun.

Salah recently deleted all of his social media accounts, for reasons which are still unclear.
