# Liverpool considering contract offer for Javi Cendon

Liverpool are considering offering a contract to teenage goalkeeper Javi Cendon , according to the [Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/liverpool/liverpool-weighing-up-contract-offer-for-goalkeeper-javi-cendon-a4531706.html).

The Spaniard has been out of contract following his release from La Liga side Villarreal in July.

Cendon, 19, joined the Reds during their pre-season training camp in Austria this summer and has apparently impressed goalkeeping coach John Achterberg and other members of the coaching set-up.

The teenager could find himself a permanent member of the Premier League champions’ squad after being without a club for a little over a month.

Loris Karius and Kamil Grabara both expected to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer following up and down spells on loan with Turkish side Besiktas and Championship side Huddersfield respectively the last term.

Meanwhile, Andy Lonergan has already parted ways with the club following his role as the luckiest third-choice goalkeeper in the world, claiming a Premier League winners medal the season after being released by Preston North End.

Adrian, who himself arrived at Anfield on a free transfer last summer, looks set to remain at the club as understudy to Alisson Becker.

It is widely expected that Irish stopper Caoimhin Kelleher will be promoted to third in line, meaning Cendon will battle with the likes of Vitezslav Jaros for the Under-23s berth.

The teenage Spaniard is yet to make a senior appearance in his career and should he sign with the Reds that is unlikely to change anytime soon, however, who knows what the future holds?
