# Liverpool hit with £36m price tag if they hope to sign Euro 2020 wonderkid

Last night saw the final chapter of this year’s Euro 2020 tournament, with [England losing out to Italy](https://www.skysports.com/football/italy-vs-england/report/421532) in the final.

The tournament produced some fantastic performances from a number of players across Europe.

One of which has [caught the attention](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-liverpool-erling-haaland-chelsea-24510758?_ga=2.101728581.51648973.1626081786-1007297599.1617193223) of a number of clubs after making a lasting impression for his country.

Denmark wonderkid Mikkel Damsgaard enjoyed a fantastic tournament with his county, scoring [2 goals with 1 assist](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikkel-damsgaard/nationalmannschaft/spieler/540941/wettbewerb_id/EM20).

His performances have led to Liverpool and Tottenham to show their interest in signing the 21-year-old.

As well as this, Juventus and Barcelona are also [rumoured](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-liverpool-erling-haaland-chelsea-24510758?_ga=2.101728581.51648973.1626081786-1007297599.1617193223) to be interested in the midfielder.

However, according to [The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/tottenham-liverpool-erling-haaland-chelsea-24510758?_ga=2.101728581.51648973.1626081786-1007297599.1617193223), his parent club Sampdoria have set their asking price for Damsgaard.

The Serie A club are demanding £34million to secure the youngsters services this summer.

Damsgaard will no doubt be remembered by England fans for his [fantatsic free-kick](https://soccer.nbcsports.com/2021/07/07/video-damsgaards-world-class-free-kick-ends-england-shutout-streak/) during the semi-finals.

The forward put the Danes infront againt the Three Lions, causing quite the scare at first.

It had been rumoured by that Damsgaard would be the [perfect player for Klopp to start a future rebuild around](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/06/25/liverpool-mikkel-damsgaard/).

His ability and age tick all the boxes for the Reds and FSG, but this summer a move seems unlikely.

Despite his mere [market value](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/mikkel-damsgaard/marktwertverlauf/spieler/540941) of £11.7million, a fee of £34million may just be out of Liverpool’s price range.

The club are already operating on limited finances this summer and have [strong interest in Ateltico Madrid midfielder Saúl Ñíguez](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/09/liverpool-saul-niguez-bid/).

The club had made a bid of £34million, only for [the Spanish club to reject their offer](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/07/11/virals-liverpool-reportedly-have-34m-bid-rejected-for-saul-niguez/).

Time will tell as to who Liverpool may sign in midfield this summer, but one thing for sure is there is plenty of talent to choose from.
