# Liverpool deny Bruno Fernandes interest

Liverpool have refuted suggestions that Rafa Camacho’s move to join Sporting is in any way linked with their reported pursuit of Bruno Fernandes.

[The Guardian claims](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/jun/28/rafael-camacho-leave-liverpool-sporting)that the Reds are not interested in signing the latter, despite contrary reports.

Camacho has long been linked with a move back to Portugal and after completing a £7 million deal to join Sporting, many suspected that he was being used as a sweetener.

There had been various [reports](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/06/27/second-portuguese-source-claims-liverpool-have-made-a-bid-for-bruno-fernandes/) emerging from Portugal that suggested that Liverpool were eager to sign the player, who has also been linked with Tottenham, Manchester United and City this summer.

Fernandes is certainly a man in demand and looks set to leave Sporting in the coming weeks, but his next destination remains unclear.

The 24-year-old scored 20 times for Sporting last season and registered a further 13 assists in the league, so it is easy to see why so many teams are clamouring to sign him.
