# Liverpool deny interest in Omur deal

Liverpool have denied any interest in a deal to sign Turkish youngster Abdulkadir Omur from Trabzonspor.

[As reported by the Liverpool Echo](https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/liverpools-abdulkadir-omur-stance-revealed-15742187), the Reds are not on the verge of completing a €20 million move to sign the player, despite [reports that suggested otherwise.](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/01/28/liverpool-agree-e20m-deal-to-sign-omur-at-the-end-of-the-season/)

It was claimed at the start of the week that the two clubs had agreed a deal that would see the player join Liverpool at the end of the season.

The Echo goes on to explain that the player is not a target for Jurgen Klopp’s side, who remain unlikely to bring anybody in this month.

Omur has been [heavily linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2019/01/06/trabzonspor-youngster-abdulkadir-omur-open-to-liverpool-move/) with moves to Anfield in recent weeks as he continues to impress in Turkey.

His performances for Trabzonspor have seen him draw comparisons to a young Lionel Messi, but ultimately, Liverpool now looks unlikely to be his next destination.

With Omur looking likely to secure a big move away from Trabzonspor, it appears that the Reds’ reported interest has been used as a method of engineering interest around the continent.
