# Liverpool don’t ‘interest’ Lacazette

Lyon’s president Jean Michel Aulas has moved quickly to squash the rumours of Alexandre Lacazette joining Liverpool.

On Sunday, a French news outlet claimed that the Reds were close to tying up a deal for Ligue 1’s top scorer but Aulas has emphatically denied this via his Twitter account.

*“The latest rumours are trash,”* said the French businessman who has owned the club since 1987.

*“Liverpool have never called Lyon about Lacazette and without playing in the Champions League they have neither the money nor \[would they be\] able to interest him.”*

It seems that any club that want Lacazette will have to be willing to part with a huge amount of money (around £50 million) and also be of Champions League status.

After scoring 27 goals in a campaign where Lyon finished runners-up to Paris Saint-Germain, Lacazette will be a sought after figure in this transfer window.
