# Liverpool fans are hugely excited as pursuit of Werner gathers pace

After a relatively [quiet](https://www.lfchistory.net/SeasonArchive/Transfers/129) summer last time around, Liverpool could be a little busier in the transfer market at the end of this season.

Timo Werner has emerged as one of the most talked-about potential signings, with constant reports [linking](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2020/01/21/reliable-journalist-tips-werner-to-make-liverpool-move/) him with the Reds.

On Wednesday, [https://sportbild.bild.de/](https://sportbild.bild.de/)*[Sport Bild](https://sportbild.bild.de/)* journalist Christian Falk provided an update on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/cfbayern/status/1227481530190180352?s=20), confirming Jurgen Klopp’s interest in Werner.

The RB Leipzig striker is allowed to leave his current club for €60 million in the summer, due to a clause in his contract.

Werner has also already scored [20 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/130903/Show/Timo-Werner) this season, netting [86 times in 143 matches](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Timo_Werner#Career_statistics) for Leipzig overall.

News of the 23-year-old’s potential move to Liverpool has been met with excitement from Reds fans, considering Werner’s pedigree.

These supporters took to Twitter to provide their thoughts on the latest update, discussing how he would fit in and why he would be such a good signing.

> Will be very interesting signing and competition for front 3. If he comes in and starts scoring goals then who makes way? Nice problem to have!
