# Liverpool fans believe Sven Botman may have agreed deal after cryptic post

A number of Liverpool fans believe the Reds may have agreed a deal to sign [Sven Botman](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/01/liverpool-fans-get-excited-as-sven-botman-links-gain-momentum/), following a cryptic Instagram post by him on Friday.

Jurgen Klopp continues to suffer from a centre-back shortage at the moment, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all [sidelined](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fc-liverpool/sperrenundverletzungen/verein/31).

Van Dijk and Gomez may not play again this season, with many of the opinion that a new defender needs to arrive in the January transfer window.

Botman has been one of a host of players [linked](https://readliverpoolfc.com/2021/01/01/liverpool-fans-get-excited-as-sven-botman-links-gain-momentum/) with a move to Liverpool this month, having shone for current club Lille.

On Friday, the 20-year-old Dutchman posted on [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/svenbotman_/?hl=en), hinting that something could have been agreed:

Transfer news is always something that football supporters love to talk about, so it was no surprise to see an instant reaction to the post.
